COMMON SENSE SAYS: We need to learn the lessons of Afghanistan and not deploy troops in a “war” that is unwinnable. In all likelihood, rather than learn the hard lessons, Republicans will continue to use troops as pawns in global political power. It’s time to stop that.

COMMON SENSE SAYS: The media is trying to vent its outrage over Afghanistan when the overwhelming percentage of voters wanted us out of the country. We should be asking how we lost trillions of dollars and over 2,400 lives in an unattainable mission.
THOUGHT: We must never again put our military in a position to lose personnel in a “war” they cannot win. The military is not designed to be “peacekeepers.” They should be deployed as the last option, even though some believe it may show our country weak.
